Intel Layoffs Job Cut: may fire 300 employees in Ireland

The news is not good for the employees of the Intel, which is the famous processor and chip manufacturing company. We had initially reported about a possible Intel Layoffs Job Cut in January 09 and Intel Layoffs Job Cut in December 2008. Now the situation is getting worse for the employees as the recession is taking a toll on all sectors and all of the sectors are feeling the heat. Intel Layoffs Job Cut: plans to fire 6000 employees

The news is not good for the employees of Intel Corporation, the largest chipmaker for PC and laptops. It is learnt that the company may go for a huge layoff, firing as manay as 6000 employees at various locations globally. Seems like the era of progress is over and we are completely into a big messy situation, where even blue chip companies are unable to keep their employees. The latest additon to the list of companies going for layoffs is the Intel. No one seems to be shielded from the effect of recession. It the Intel Company, which have decided to go for the layoff. There could be around 6000 job cuts by the company. That will be around 10% of the global workforce of the company.

Yes. The company plans to close 3 of the "assembly test" facilities in Malaysia and the Philippines and will halt production at plants in Hillsboro, Ore., and Santa Clara, Calif., where older-style wafers were being produced, as per the news.

As per the news, Intel may be gooing for a massive layoffs or job cuts in the coming few months. The market experts predict this because of the deteriorating market conditions, dipping sales of Intel processors and worst economic outlook.

Intel Corporation could be preparing to lay off as much as 10 percent of its work force.

It is predicted that Intel may have to cut down on its fourth-quarter guidance for the second time, because the economic crisis has caused computer makers to sharply curtail the amount of processors they buy for those machines.

Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. analyst Craig Berger wrote in a note to clients that "recent industry checks" suggest that Santa Clara, Calif.-based Intel is preparing a large work force reduction that could be as high as 8,300 employees, or 10 percent of its global staff.
