Tax Return Filing Information
As the deadline of July 31, 2008 is coming near, the tax payers are getting worried about preparation of their income tax returns. I’ve always advised people to do things well in time, instead of pushing it to the last moment.
What happens at the last moment is that there is a long queue at the Income Tax office, you make unnecessary mistakes while filing your return form (Saral form), if you are doing it yourself, or you end up paying hefty money to agents who do it for you. The charge of these agents increases exponentially, as the deadline comes near. Sometimes, its tough to find an agent if you are attempting to file your returns around 2-3 days before the deadline of July 31, even though you are willing to pay them whatever they want.
So, be it investment for tax savings or filing of your income tax returns, it’s best to finish off these things well in time. I’ve myself filed the returns in the first week of June.
Now for people still looking for help on filing IT returns, Rediff has put up an article on How to file your returns. It is good article, though not 100% complete, but it will give you full idea of the things you need to do. Still you have more than 3 weeks to complete the returns filing process, so don’t wait till the last moment.
All the best with Income tax return filings. Any questions, please post it in the comments. | Table of Contents |
