The organization may be going for job cuts. Now the situation is getting worse for the employees as the recession is taking a toll on all sectors and all of the sectors are feeling the heat. ArcelorMittal Layoffs Job Cut: closes Cleveland plant, fires 700 employees

The news is not good for the employees of ArcelorMittal. The steel company is adding more numbers to the already announced layoffs. This time, the affected employees are those employes at the Cleveland Site in Ohio. We had published reports recently about the ArcelorMittal Layoffs Job Cuts in December 2008 and in in November 2008. The recession is taking a toll on all sectors and even the book companies are feeling the heat. The latest additon to the list of organization which may go for layoffs is the ArcelorMittal. ArcelorMittal Layoffs Job Cut: fires 1550 employees

The economic situation is worsening in multiple sectors and that includes the big giants equally within each industry sector. We had reported last month about the ArcelorMittal Lay off Job Cut and now the company has decided to add to the list of layoffs - another 1550 employees may be fired in European countries. The layoffs will happen in Germany and Belgium.
Around 750 jobs (450 in Bremen and 300 in Eisenhttenstadt) will be cut in Germany. While in Belgium, a voluntary separation programme for 800 employees is planned.

As per the news, The L N Mittal-led company said that the jobs of another 450 employees at its Bremen unit and 300 at the other German plant would be affected temporarily. The bad news of layoffs have started coming in from all corners of the world. THe latest one to add to the list is from the biggest steel company of the world called ArcelorMittal which is reported that there is a big possibility that it may have to cut the workforce by around 2500 employees. The company has reported that around 2,444 employees at its Burns Harbor plant in the U.S. could be laid off indefinitely in January.

"Potential work force reductions are a direct result of the extraordinary economic environment we are facing, and the company hopes to return workers to their jobs as market conditions warrant," the release said, the Web site reported.
Jim Robinson, director of United Steelworkers District 7, said the union is negotiating with ArcelorMittal to minimize the number of layoffs, the Web site reported.
