Maruti Car Price Hike: Maruti increases car prices

Due to the increasing input costs, it is learnt that Maruti Suzuki has increased the cost of its cars significantly.

The hike in the car prices have come in the range of Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 18,000, based upon the different segment and size of the Maruti Cars.

Almost all the cars in the petrol segment have witnessed the price hike. The Swift Desire will now cost around 18,000 Rs. more than the previous prices. Initially this car was available in the range of 4.49 to 6 lakhs Rs.

Swift, Gypsy and SX4 will now be costlier by 9,000 Rs. whereas the diesel variant of the Swift model will be costlier by 15,000 Rs.

Zen Estillo & Wagon R LPG will become costlier by 1,000 Rs. whereas the other small cars like Alto and Maruti 800 will see more price hike – of 1500 Rs. per car. Maruti Omni and Wagon R Petrol will see a price increase of Rs. 2000 each. Maruti Versa will also become costly by 8,000 Rs.

In this era, where Nano is set to come to the markets by the year end in the price range of a little over 1 Lakh, it seems that the companies are trying to take advantage of the waiting period. But not to forget the high inflationary effects on the metal prices! Table of Contents
