Chrysler GM Merger: Will Chrysler Merge with General Motors??

As per the news flashing on various sites like the CNBC are to be believed, then Chrysler is all set to go for a merger with General Motors GM, provided the US government comes out with a Automaker Bailout package.

Given the turbulent situation market is currently facing, there are attempts from the 3 major automakers of the US to get the US government bailout package for the Auto Industry. If that happens, the the merger of Chrysler with GM will be a possibility.

Reports say that there are discussions already going on at some levels between Chrysler & GM and it will start at a rapid pace if the government approves the Automaker bailout package.
Though there are serious doubts about whether the US government will provide the much required bailout for the auto industry.
It is understood that General motors GM will be unable to survuve without any funding from the government. Then, comes Chrysler which is said to be unable to continue on its own. So a merger is a strong possibility.
