Electrolux Layoffs Job Cut: layoff more employees

Now, it is the Electrolux plant at Webster City which has decided to go for layoffs. And these layoffs are in addition to the 100 job cuts which were made by the company last month.

As per the news, there are more layoffs planned for Electrolux workers for the Electrolux washer and dryer plant in Webster City.

Thouogh there is no concrete detail available about the number of job cuts, but it is reported that there will be 20 layoffs and it will be in addition to the 99 layoffs that happened last month.

Officials say 20 workers will be laid off on Dec. 8.

Company spokesman Tony Evans says both rounds of layoffs are due to the economy and a softening demand for appliances.

Before the layoffs, the Webster City plant had 1,400 workers.

Electrolux announced in 2006 that it would eliminate 700 jobs in Webster City because production of its front-loading washing machines and companion dryers would move to Mexico. Those layoffs haven't happened.
