BMC Software Layoffs Job Cut: layoff 350 employees

As per the news, BMC Software is going for a massive layoffs or job cuts. The company is in the business of making Business Softwares, and since the entire global markets and businesses are suffering from the downturn, who would like to buy new business softwares. BMC Software Layoffs

When will the BMC Software Layoffs happen?
The layoffs are expected this month in December 2008.

How many employees will be affected in the BMC Software Layoffs?
Areound 350 employees will be fired from their jobs. That will be around 6% of its entire workforce.

Which business units will be affected in the BMC Software Layoffs?
The job cuts will be made in all business units and all corporate departments and at all geographical regions. That will mean that even offshore centers like Pune in India may not be spared from BMC Layoffs.

What are the financial results of BMC Software?
BMC said it expects to record $18 million to $23 million in layoff-related charges in the third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2009.
As of March 31, BMC employed approximately 5,800 full-time workers, according to a separate SEC filing.

Let's hope that alternative jobs are available to the affected employees of BMC Software Layoffs Job Cut.

What is more painful is that the way in which Employees were being laid off. No breathing time was given to employees, especially BMC India. Also people who were given very good hike (compared to Industry standards) also fall in the list.

Most of the layoffs are political. At least in the Canada (Markham, ON) office. If someone closely looks at it, there has been racial discrimination too.

Layoff is painful but seeing the recession around we can say it as a part of life. However in BMC India the way it has departed the employees is very humiliating.

As an ex BMC employee I can tell you that layoffs there are entirely political and it doesn't matter how hard you work or the quality of your work. Despite the company line they care nothing about the employee. Happily I've gone on to a better envronment where my skill-set is appreciated.
