Boeing Layoffs Job Cut: fires 10000 employees

It was in the month of November 2008, when we had published the news about the Boeing Layoffs Job Cuts. The high and volatile prices of oil has seen many airlines come down crashing and now the aircraft company Boeing has decided to go for a big Boeing Lay off or Being Job Cut. The economic crisis is hitting all sectors.
Boeing, the leading company for aircraft manufacturing, has decided to go for an increase in the previously announced layoffs - around 10000 employees will be fired by the company. It is learnt that these layoffs are being done to save costs. Boeing Layoffs

How many employees will be fired by Boeing layoffs?
Around 10,000 employees will be asked to quit their jobs at Boeing - Initially it had
announced to cut only 4500 jobs, but now that no. has been hiked to 10,000 job cuts by Boeing.

How much savings can be made by outsourcing and Boeing Layoffs?
There is no information provided by the company about the savings to be made by the job cuts.

WHat are the primary reasons of Boeing Layoffs
The worsening global economy means that there is less air travel and hence less demand for aircrafts. There is also a decline in the defense budgets hence there will be constrints for

that as well.

Which departments of employees will be affected in the Boeing layoffs
Job reductions will primarily occur in areas that support productivity and infrastructure, driven through a combination of attrition, retirements, cuts in some contracted labor, and layoffs.
