More lay offs. My company is not laying off as many as this one but none the less my job will be gone in may. It is not a good feeling at all.
Sure hope this economy improves fast. thanks for posting. Viv
I know someone at Bose that was layed off. They walked in and all their personal things were packed and waiting for them. An entire department. They were told to leave immediately. Really nice company!
That's not fair. I work there and the company has been extremely generous and caring in how it's treated those losing their jobs. We were told when it was happening and why and I know my Director was in tears talking about why it happened and how much it hurt those who had to make the decision to cut people. It's just a fact of life and the company has been as good as any I've ever been with in dealing with this sort of thing.
wow you clearly are a kool aid drinking bose asshat. the people that had to make the decision may have been saddened but they still have jobs. aw boo hoo. the party has finally ended in the bose corporate center.
Those money-wasting ass-wipes in management are not in the least bit remorseful for what they have done to that company. The fact that they would go so far as to feign tears only underscores the level of contempt they hold for those who actually work. Though Dr. Bose is in the sunset of his days, he is a genuinely great man. Too bad his company and dream have been hijacked by such a swarm of good-for-nothing low-lifes and driven into a ditch.
There were scores of contract workers also fired ("contracts terminated") that may or may not be counted in the 1,000 employee figure. In the marketing dept., we got an email late Thursday afternoon (Jan 15) inviting us to a mandatory meeting the morning of the 16th, where we were told. Badges were surrendered immediately, then we were escorted to our desks to clean out our stuff prior to being escorted out of the building. Our severance was being paid for 4 hours (1/2 day) for that Friday morning, and that was it. However, the management was as pleasant and apologetic as possible -- they didn't like it any more than we did. At least I'm glad I bought some Bose audio equipment at the employee discount price while I was there.
What is an "ass hat"?
