It was Barack Obama's swearing in ceremony when entire America was rejoicing, but not for the employees of Eaton Corporation. The latest additon to the list of companies going for layoffs is the Eaton, which operates from Cleveland. No one seems to be shielded from the effect of recession. It the Eaton and Eaton Company, which have decided to go for the layoff.
How many employees will be fired in the Eaton layoffs?
There will be around 5200 job cuts by the company.
Is this the first round of layoff by Eaton Corporation?
No, the company has already slashes or gone for job cuts for 3400 employees in 2008.
Which employees are affecteed by the Eaton Layoffs
There are 800 Eaton Corporation employees in the Greater Cleveland area, 60 of those workers will lose their jobs.
Any compensation or severance package for Eaton employees?
The laid off workers will receive pay through the end of January 2009. The laid off workers will receive severance and or unemployment benefits.
When will the Eaton layoffs happen?
It is learnt that the job cuts will be made by March 2009.

There are not any alternative jobs for some of us. Let's hope they are done. I don't wish anyone the misery this massive layoff has brought us.
You are right about the misery this has caused our family. Yet the executives still get full pay, they didn't even suggest a pay-cut for executives.
